Dream view with good food and service. The cream puffs are really delicious. A good hygiene concept before the lockdown!

This unique view, the delicious food and, last but not least, the very friendly staff. Dogs are also very welcome. It was so beautiful and I absolutely recommend it!

Hiked up from Berchtesgaden. Took about 1 hour. Worth the hike as the food was delicious.

We were there in September 2020. After a short wait, we were brought to our seats. Our conclusion: It was incredibly delicious in a rustic, cozy atmosphere. Price-performance ratio is definitely right here. But be careful, the portions are not for everyone. I was allowed to help with my loved one (I found it very good).

The food was very good so I can only recommend the cream puffs. Service - We had to wait but at the time of Corona there was no other way (we went without a reservation) but we were served very quickly and everything went very quickly.

Limited parking ... you have to go down a small hill ... great view on the terrace .... nice waitresses .... cream puffs delicious ... but there is also other food ... prices ok

Great view of the mountains and Berchtesgaden. You can also use it there as a starting point for hikes or the destination. The cream puffs are good and the food is plain. The corona rules are very important, which is good!

Nice cafe with a great view. Nice service. Short waiting times after ordering. The food itself is okay but not as good as we expected now. Have eaten much better cream puffs. In our opinion, a lot is lived by the name here. Demanding in terms of price. It will therefore remain a unique experience for us.

Spectacular cream puffs and a great view from the terrace. Never seen such a good organization of a busy economy. The lady who coordinated everything at the entrance was amazing, had everything in view and everyone was placed in the best possible position as quickly as possible 👍

Unfortunately only 2 stars. POSITIVE: The view is great and the ambience is a nice mix of modern and classic elements. The homemade iced tea is delicious. Portions are big. NEGATIVE: We ordered 4 dishes, one of which didn't arrive. The missing food was only handed in on request. However, the food itself does not look particularly valuable. The ice cream on the cream puff tasted like ready-made ice cream, the elderberry sauce was missing the pep and the cocktail cherry was also out of place. In addition, the organization on site was really bad. We and several others had to wait in front of the door for some time until we were assigned a table inside. It was almost completely empty, only the outside area was full. We couldn't understand why we had to wait .. All in all, more appearance than reality.

Everything was just right for us here !! Great “hut atmosphere” with style, thus wonderful ambience. Great view, also from the indoor area, great hygiene concept in times of corona. Wonderful, very attentive service, great selection of dishes, regional & high quality, and especially the cream puffs are a DREAM. We can only warmly recommend this restaurant ... Bon appetit :)

Very full, but little waiting time even if it looked like something else. Had a very nice place outside. Service was very nice and quick. Food was delicious and nicely made.

Very friendly service! One of the must visit cafes in Berchtesgaden. Windbeutel isn't my cup of tea at all but something very famous in this area! They have a gorgeous view too

The location is great. We stopped off on a hike from January to Obersalzberg. Great selection of different cream puffs. Delicious! You have to decide for yourself whether this justifies the sometimes long waiting time to get a table.

In view of this great landscape, the "cream puff baron" is the cherry on top of the day! Dogs are welcome - a big plus. In addition, the staff is above average attentive and courteous! The cream puffs are a feast for the eyes and the palate! The main dishes are also tasty. Definitely a must on your next vacation! Until next time :)

Fantastic terrace with views to Watzmann and Konigsee

It is absolutely beautiful. And its Buttermilch is cold and fresh.

Delicious...also great salads so can feel half way virtuous before diving in to this puffy monster!

Absolute favorite cookie! Whether by car, gondola or on foot, easily accessible and fantastic views. On nice days, a lot going on accordingly, it can sometimes be that you can not get a table on the terrace, but that's not bad, because you also have a great ambience indoors. The food is delicious, the service always friendly! Highly recommended and definitely a must in Berchtesgaden.

The view is beyond spectacular and we all loved the food. The Puffs and Desserts were great but the salads were the best we'd had in ages. The service was friendly and helpful, with special thanks to Kristina for organising our breakfasts early!

Very sweet and huge cream puffs. Waiters are absolutely kind and attentive. Foods a little bit expensive, but it's okay for enjoying the time up here. The Watzmann-Grünstein view is really pretty.

The view was amazing, we very happy we managed to get a table with the view to the Alps as the restaurant seems to be very popular during the weekends. Long time to get serviced, but still worth it. The food was ok.

Usually this kind of places are highly tourist-oriented, in bad menaning. But this one, even also highly popular, still seems to care about the quality of their meals. And in addition to that - it has just a terrific scenic view from the terrace. Plus 1.5 stars only for that

Good food, friendy staff and a stunning/magnificent view..

This gorgeous family run restaurant is with a view that worth millions. Hidden from main road but just look for the long parked car along the street and you'll find it. Perched on the cliff, this place has its specialty... GIANT ICE CREAM FILLED CRE PUFF with many choices of sauces. I busted my diet for this giant cream puff but it was worth every single calorie! It was a bomb and I savored every bite. It snowed the day before so the view was breathtaking. Imagine sun, snow, mountain, hot chocolate and puff! Can't beat that, right. We love this place so much we drove up from Salzburg again to have lunch the next day. The food was as spectacular as the puffs. Service were noth polite and fast. A must visit if ever in Salzburg or Obersalzburg or on the way up or down from Eagle's Nest

Amazing cake. Make sure you go when in Berechtesgaden! And the views are outstanding over the valley from the terrace. Highly recommended

Super Windbeutel, super Service.

This place was spectacular. The view is incredible even in the winter (although you'll want a clear day). Food was very good and tasted of homemade. Staff was pleasant and accommodating us as non-native speakers. Definitely a fun drive to get to also. Will definitely recommend to all who travel the area.

The view is worth the drive.. They ran out of cake when we reached.. Maybe it's better if you come early.. I would like to come here again someday..

I guess it depends why you go here. The view is incredible, but if you want something light or healthy to eat, this is not a good option. Very rich and somewhat oily food.

The restaurant is high up in the mountain. The view is spectacular and beautiful. The food is also good and the staff are friendly.

Okay, well done........the secret is out......you have found the best place to eat and relax in the area !
